Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough ball about 250 g or homemade dough

Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic thinly sliced
  • Salt to taste

Toppings:

  • 1 bunch broccolini about 150 g, trimmed
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Zest of 1 large lemon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Red pepper flakes optional, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation:

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and char the broccolini for about 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally until tender and slightly blackened. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
  • In a small pan, warm olive oil and gently sauté garlic slices until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat.

Notes

  • For extra smoky flavor, broil the pizza for the last 1–2 minutes.
  • Swap broccolini with asparagus or tender kale if preferred.
  • Add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese for a sharper bite.
  • Use fresh lemons for zest and juice to maximize brightness.
